Interior Design Society - Designer of the Year Winners
The 2012 Interior Design Society Designer of the Year winners were announced on April 24, 2013 at the IDS Awards Dinner in Greensboro, NC.
The Designer of the Year awards recognize outstanding achievement in residential interior design among Interior Design Society members. This year we received a record number of 93 entries. Categories that received more than 7 entries were awarded a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
Presented annually these awards are judged based on:
Client Needs: To what degree were the expressed needs of the client met?
Functionality: To what degree does the project enhance the existing structures functionality?
Aesthetics: To what degree does the project enhance the existing structure aesthetically?
Craftsmanship: Is there evidence of superior craftsmanship regarding: Window treatments, furnishings, floor covering, wall treatments, etc.?
Obstacles: Did the designer overcome difficult obstacles?
Budget: Was the project completed within budget?
Specifications: Did the entry meet required specifications?
