Winner: Traci Connell, Traci Connell Interiors, Texas
The homeowners desired a fresh look, leaving their beige walls and brown trim work behind. California casual was the goal and the designer knew to come in with Mediterranean blues and soft whites to achieve the feel.

Texture played an important role as an accent wall was covered in a blue wood veneer paper and the piece de resistance was the large scale light fixture is the same blue draped fabric. The antique balloon mold wall décor was such a fun surprise to bring in a touch of whimsy.

The white washed stained desks with bookcases flanked in gold provide function and organization for both work and fun. The designer redesigned the closet to hide the additional file cabinet, office supplies and shelving which provided a space for all.

Rich in details the study is a mix of iconic architecture and contemporary accents. This study has it all: a functional workspace concealed within an elegant setting, the study is a match made in organizational heaven. Masculine by design but elegant enough for any woman to feel comfortable.

The clients request to have a dark study provided a challenge to keep the room from being too dark.  French doors that open to a terrace provided bright sunlight and the crocodile tile to the floor kept the library from looking like a traditional all-wood room. It was necessary to add some clean contemporary details to the room so it read current and elegant, rather than dark and stodgy.

This home office was designed to serve as a work space, but also an area where the clients could escape the hustle and bustle of their lives. The clients' affinity to English interiors, the room is adorned with a jewel-toned antique rug, traditional English furnishings, curated art, and a deeper, richer color palette than the rest of the home.

The pre-remodeled room featured sheet rock walls and shag carpet which the designer removed first off.  The area is also located at the end of a narrow hallway on the second floor, so all furnishings were custom-made to allow for a smooth installation.
