Meet the 2019 IDS Scholarship Recipients
Investing in the future of our industry is a priority for us. We do this in many ways, but one of the most impactful is through our scholarship program. Last year (2018) we created our scholarship program, and gave out our first awards. This year we were able to award two more students who are studying interior design.
Continue reading to find out what these students are up to. We feel honored to have contributed to their success as a student and as a future designer!
Jenna Snow
Jenna is a senior studying interior design at the University of Central Oklahoma. She has many accomplishments, but one that stood out to us is her participation in the Oklahoma Designer Show House. She even went on to win 2nd place - two years in a row!
Residential interior design is a passion of Jenna's. She wrote in her essay, "You see, design wasn't something that was highly respected in the state of Oklahoma when I was a child. It was just seen as a task anyone could do, something not to waste money on and quite frankly, just a hobby that some people majored in. For me, however, it was different."
Her goal is to one day open her own design business, and then to later also open her own retail storefront and start a family business.
Stephanie Voinea
Stephanie is a junior studying interior design at Ringling College of Art + Design. She has received the "Best of Ringling Sophomore Award," and has also earned her place on the President's List.
Stephanie began her interior design studies by studying production design. This ignited her love for the industry even more,

Stephanie has now narrowed down her career goals and would like to pursue commercial design. She stated in her essay "Although I started this pursuit focused on production design, I am drawn over and over to the concept of how I can create a healthy environment that also inspires and puts a smile on someone's face."
