Jenn-Air Connected Wall Ovens:

Sleek, dual convection wall ovens from Jenn-Air now offer wireless connectivity and a fully functioning application for IOS and Android devices. The app gives users control of the oven’s functions and performance from their smartphones and tablets, including cooking innovations unique to Jenn-Air.  This allows users to keep an eye on what’s happening in the kitchen while entertaining in the living room.  

 

Other advantages include the incorporation of diagnostic capabilities and the ability for users to explore and control the oven’s advanced features and performance right in the palm of their hand.  Jenn-Air is currently working on an integration that will allow the connected wall oven to work with Nest, paving the way for future enhancements.  The integration will focus on two key benefits - peace of mind and comfort – and will come as an update in the Jenn-Air Wi-Fi app this summer.     

Additional innovations featured on the wall ovens include a 7-inch full-color touch-anywhere LCD display and slider technology under glass, allowing users to slide a bar on the touchscreen to achieve desired temperatures without entering numbers.  The ovens also feature the Jenn-Air® Culinary Center, an interactive, image-driven system that uses the oven’s advanced cooking system, a series of precise algorithms, and chef- tested cooking programs to give cooks the ultimate control in achieving desired results.

 

Jenn-Air Induction Downdraft Cooktop:

Scheduled for availability this summer, a new 36” induction downdraft cooktop from Jenn-Air combines the brand’s powerful downdraft ventilation technology with the responsiveness of induction cooking.  A cooking technology that continues to gain in popularity, induction uses electromagnetic energy to turn cookware into the heat source, providing instant heat and precise temperature control.  Because the cookware itself becomes the heat source, the area around each element stays cooler.  With two flexible induction cooking areas, each providing a powerful 3,700 watts, the cooktop can accommodate up to 6 pots at once.

This high-performance cooktop keeps both the air and sight lines clear.  In addition to eliminating the need for overhead ventilation, its extremely low profile is virtually flush with the countertop so it integrates beautifully into a range of modern kitchen configurations, including those with islands.  Given that it’s really two appliances in a single footprint, the new downdraft cooktop can be a great option for tighter spaces.

The founder of Jenn-Air, Lou Jenn, invented downdraft ventilation in the 1960’s and since then many refinements have been made to enhance its performance.   Downdraft ventilation, with its location directly on the cooktop, uses proximity ventilation to capture smoke, steam and odors at the cooking surface, whisking them down and out for a fresher, cleaner kitchen.

Featuring an exhaust capacity rating of 350 CFM in a ducted configuration, the downdraft blower is designed with centrifugal fan technology to both quickly and quietly ventilate cooking vapors.   Those who are unable or prefer not to run ductwork or vent smoke outside can opt for the brand’s duct-free option (pictured below) that uses a powerful filtration system to capture smoke and steam.   

Jenn-Air Refrigeration:
Imagine the surprise of opening a refrigerator and finding a dramatic and sophisticated deep charcoal interior instead of the traditional white one.  This stunning black interior, called Obsidian, puts food on display in an impressive, pristine way and is now found across the entire line of Jenn-Air built-in refrigeration.  Configurations include French door and 2-door bottom mount refrigerator/freezer models as well as side-by-side options.   A fully integrated and flush design allows these built-in refrigerators to achieve a nearly seamless appearance by concealing hinges and trim pieces and blending into cabinetry. 

Later this year, a new 72-inch counter-depth French door refrigerator with Wi-Fi connectivity will expand the brand’s collection of Obsidian options beyond currently available built-in models.
