2018-2019 Designer of the Year: Sherwin-Williams Sponsor Award
Winner: Studio Steidley, Studio Steidley Interior Design, Texas
Originally cramped and unused, Studio Steidley transformed this room off the entry into a functional home office. By using a 12x24 natural stone-look, porcelain tile to face the fireplace, the designer was able to achieve a sleek, high-end look.
Originally cramped and unused, Studio Steidley transformed this room off the entry into a functional home office. By using a 12x24 natural stone-look, porcelain tile to face the fireplace, the designer was able to achieve a sleek, high-end look.
Studio Steidley paired neutral accents with the Georgian Bay walls, to provide balance and leave room for bold abstract art. Incorporating the existing bookcases into the design allowed the client to maintain necessary storage, however, painting the bookshelves in the same Georgian Bay color, brought in an unexpected element.
Placed right off the entry, this home office immediately grabs your attention as you walk through the door. Sherwin-Williams acrylic latex paint was used in beautiful Georgian Bay. The designer specified a flat finish for the walls and, keeping in the same color, switched to a semi-gloss finish for the built-in bookcases. Duration paint allowed a dark color to be painted over a very light wall in 2 coats.
