IDS in Paris Day 4: September 7, 2019

Bonjour from Paris! Today was our last official day as a group and we soaked up every minute. Today's highlight (and possibly the highlight from the whole trip) was our journey through the Paris Flea Markets.

The Paris Flea Markets have been around for almost a century. They cover over 20 acres and consist of 11 different markets. They receive between 120,000 and 180,000 visitors each weekend! Each market has its own feel - the favorite of many was Vernaison. These are not your typical flea markets - many booths are full of vintage Channel, beautiful antiques, and one-of-a-kind artwork.

We were fortunate to have 2 tour guides who showed us the ropes - Virginia and Virginia! They each took half of our group and led us all around, giving us tips for navigating, bargaining, and more. They were incredibly helpful and taught us all sorts of things!

It would truly take multiple days to cover all of the flea markets. Which means we must come back! We hope you've enjoyed following along with us this week in Paris. It has been a phenomenal trip and we hope you join us for our next educational trip abroad!

    1. How fun! Vernaison had such a great collection and variety - you could find anything from antique dishes to artwork to vintage designer bags! It also felt very lively and "flea market-y." Make sure you go on a Saturday or Sunday - the markets are closed the rest of the week. You could go on a Monday, but many shops will be closed. Have fun!
